CAPSIM contributes to many of its clients' projects in the electricity transmission and distribution sector, working with the system operators as well as with equipment suppliers and engineering specialists. With its experiences in R&D projects, CAPSIM is able carry out high value-added projects regarding the impact of the massive integration of renewable energy sources into the electrical grids of countries.
CAPSIM offers electrical studies in France as well as in foreign countries, for example to update protection plans or to size HV (very high voltage)/HV (high voltage) equipment (transformers, lines, cables, etc.) as part of electrification projects.
Within its "Simulation Engineering" branch, CAPSIM participates in reviews on the means of conventional or real-time simulation to address the changes envisaged in the electricity grids: direct current links, burial of high-voltage cables, new equipment based on power electronics (FACTS, STATCOM, etc.).
CAPSIM is also capable of handling specific technical problems such as the effect of electromagnetic transients, issues regarding insulation coordination or the sizing of earthing grids of substations.
